Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu

Pick up from the airport and drive through the Kikuyu country where farming and keeping of domestic animals is the order of the day drive past the equator which bisects Kenya into two, drive through Nanyuki which borders Mt. Kenya proceed to Isiolo before arriving at the Samburu Game Reserve, have lunch at the lodge or camp 

At 4.00pm go for game viewing in the reserve which is part of the arid Northern Frontier District it, is bisected into two by The Uaso Nyiro River originating from The Aberdare Mountain.  Samburu Game Reserve on the northern bank of the river and Buffalo Springs Reserve lies on the southern stretch a bridge across the river connects both reserves making it easier for game viewing in both reserves. The terrain is a rugged rocky landscape of dry scrubland surrounded by hills of different sizes and shapes, the river stretch is a cover of acacia woodland forest, doum palm trees and scrub bushes. Wildlife is abundant the main attraction being Beisa oryx, Grevy Zebra, Reticulated giraffe and gerenuk popularly known as giraffe antelope, Elephants are in great numbers and Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Spotted Hyaena, Striped Hyena and Buffalo are observable. A rich bird life is witnessed along the banks of the river some flying from one tree to another, crocodiles also form part of the wildlife

After game viewing go back to the lodge or camp for dinner and overnight. 

Day 2: Samburu Lodge

Early morning go into the reserve for a game drive exploring the park for wild animals until 8.30 am when you return to the lodge or camp for breakfast. Then you are free to enjoy the lodge or camp facilities or visit the Samburu cultural village or go for a game drive. At lunchtime have lunch

Later in the afternoon go for a game drive untill early evening when you return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Samburu to Lake Nakuru

After an early breakfast depart and drive past the equator go past Mt. Kenya and the Aberdare Mountains stop over at Thompsons Falls before proceeding to Lake Nakuru arriving at the lodge or camp in time for lunch.

 In the afternoon go game viewing in the park which is the most beautiful and famous national park situated in the Rift Valley it is a sanctuary of the Black and White Rhinoceros which are given protection for 24 hours the park also shelters the endangered Rothschild Giraffe The alkaline lake attracts a variety of birds with over 400 species recorded in the area, Pelicans, Seagulls, Grebes, Plovers, Curlew Sandpipers, Vultures, Eagles, Herons, Stints, Stocks, Ibises, Water Ducks, Egrets and Teals. Hundreds of thousands of flamingos used to flock the salt water lake until the year 2012 when the water levels increased after heavy rains started pounding the area. Buffaloes, Lions, Cheetahs, Hyenas, Zebras, Gazelles, Antelopes, Leopards, Water-bucks, Hippo, Gnus, Monkeys, Baboons, Mongooses, Jackals and Reedbucks, can be spotted in the park. Later in the afternoon return back to the lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast, depart heading South West to Masai Mara National reserve arriving in time for lunch at your lodge or camp.  

In the afternoon go for game viewing in the reserve one of the best game reserves in Kenya, the vast plain savannah landscape has on several occasions been voted the best game reserve in Africa, and was declared the 8th wonder of the world a few years ago. The landscape dotted with scattered acacia woodlands and dense thickets of scrub is surrounded by hills and mountains, a network of all weather roads criss-crosses ridges, seasonal rivers and bushes making it easy to search and locate wildlife. The reserve is renowned for the Big Five (Elephant, Rhinoceros, Buffalo, Lion and Leopard) and the annual migration of the wildebeests. Cheetah, Wild dog, Warthog, Zebra, Eland, Impala Thompson’s Gazelle, Grants Gazelle, Masai Giraffe, Black Rhino, Reedbuck, Waterbuck, Topi,  Kongoni, Bat eared fox, Hyena and Jackal are easy to spot. 

Late in the afternoon come back to the lodge or camp for dinner and overnight

Day 5: Full Day @ Maasai Mara

After breakfast carry picnic lunch, drive into the reserve and explore the vast savannah grassland heading to the western area of the reserve, visit the Mara River which is the lifeline of the reserve and the surrounding communities it is home to crocodiles and hippopotamus that spend the day enjoying the waters of the river and sometimes basking in the sun. Late in the afternoon return back to the lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.

 Day 6: Maasai Mara – Nairobi

After breakfast drive back to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon at early evening transfer to The Carnivore Restaurant for dinner after dinner transfer back to the hotel for overnight

Day 7: Nairobi – Amboseli

At 7:00AM depart from your hotel and Drive across the Athi plains the Kamba and Masai territory proceed to Amboseli National Park arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon go for a game drive in the park. The park a dry lake-bed with swamps and marshes hidden in an open plain which are recharged from the massif Kilimanjaro a background hard to miss when taking photos. The swamps attract a large number of mammals such as Zebra, Masai Giraffe, Thomson’s Gazelles, Gnus, Reedbuck, Waterbuck, spend most part of the day grazing and browsing within the margins of the swamps, elephants and buffaloes enter the swamps to feed on the floating plants and to cool of the heat of the sun, hippos watch from the limits of their territory.  Lion, Leopard, Hyenas, Kongoni, Warthog and Black Rhino roam this habitat. Different species of birds are frequent in the park. Sunrise and sunset in Amboseli are a major attraction in the morning and in the late afternoon. Amboseli is the Masai word for salty dust

At sundowner return to the lodge or camp for dinner and overnight

Day 8: Full Day Game Drive in Amboseli

After breakfast carry picnic lunch depart and drive into the park   to explore various areas of the park looking for different species of wildlife, at lunchtime have picnic lunch then continue with game viewing as you return back to the lodge or camp for dinner and overnight

Day 9: Amboseli – Nairobi

After breakfast drive back to Nairobi and transfer to the airport
